To the Editor:
In response to the couple of negative comments that were included in the article on Kaleden AGM, plus a letter in the same issue of March 21, I would like to inform everyone that last night we had our first movie presentation and it was a resounding success.
With at least 62 parents and children present the only comment after was one of “awesome”, “fantastic”, “unbelievable screen size and crisp clear picture”. This made all the work worth it, and the popcorn from Tickleberries was a big hit.
Of particular interest was that, as it was our first venture into this sort of entertainment for the local families, the turn out was we feel a “thumbs up” and the applause at the end made a fitting end to the evening.
Parents filled out questionnaires and definitely want more of this, some even suggested every week, alternating between children/Teenagers content to Adult type films.
This event proved it is time to rethink and change the old school ideas that have been around for a long time, and, to consider people who want change as well.
So, come on over to Kaleden hall and enjoy a night at the “Movies” without all the expenses usually involved for a family. Keep checking our website www.kal-rec.ca/happenings or bulletin boards for info on future showings.
