Speed bump on Fourth Street remains an issue to Keremeos resident

Letter to the Editor,

We were delighted to read Tom Farren’s criticism of how the village council is dispersing our tax dollars! We understand that every little thing can not be run by every citizen, but when it comes to spending our tax dollars more information should be given.

The cost of the “speed bump” on Fourth Street was $1,099, whereas two stop signs would have cost $302. You do the math. When we requested all the letters of complaints about speeding...we got 0.

If safety was a concern a “playground” sign on Fourth Street should have been in place....Yeah for us, after bringing it to the attention of council that there wasn’t one ...we now have a new sign!

When the Review spoke with Joni Heinrich she told him we were the only people to complain about the speed bump. So if you don’t like it either, please call the village at 250-499-2711 and voice your opinion! If they get enough calls maybe they will remove it.
