Born in Paris, Ontario on October 18, 1946 suddenly passed away on January 22, 2018 at Penticton Regional Hospital with her loving husband Gord by her side.
Joan, or Sam as she is affectionately known to her friends and family, is survived by her husband Gord and her beloved pooch Scamp, her children Joan and Jean Good, Kimberly Vance, and Chad Good. Sam is also survived by nine grandchildren, and one great grandbaby. Joan was born into a large family of 10 siblings; she is survived by many more extended family members.
Sam was predeceased by her son Clinton, her husband Bill Rigsby, her brother Cecil Birley, and her parents Cecil and Josephine (nee McCarthy) Birley.
A viewing will be held at Everden Rust Funeral Chapel, 1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton on Sunday, January 28th, 2018 at 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192, 510 Veterans Ave, Keremeos at 3 p.m.
