One year ago today March 6 2021, Emery Vass Jr took his last breath in his home with his wife Colleen by his side. At the age of 62, because of cancer.
Emery is missed everyday by his wife Colleen Vass, daughter Holly Vass and son in law Scott Hughes and his only grandchild Dominic Vass.
Em is also missed by his brother Larry Vass, nephew Ryan Vass (Jacilyn Edwards), Great niece Lilly Vass & Great nephew Thomas Vass. Nephew Jeremey Vass.
Dad, Alfred George & Mom, Helen George. Sister and brother in laws, Freda Kummel, Violet (Eugene Kovach), Gwen (Tibor Wachtler). Nephews Clayton Kovach (Jennifer) and their 4 daughters. Nikki St Cyr and her 4 sons. Nephew TJ Wachtler ( Brittany) one son and Ryan Wachtler (Sam).
Emery also has been missed by many other family members and friends.
Born and raised in Penticton, Emery was in the Boys and Girls Club and also he was in Cadet.
Emery was a Painter most of his life working for his parents company New West Home Painters. He was a Pilot car driver and worked for Leroy Ogi. He also was a logger for a few years. In Calgary he worked at Minit Lube, for 10 years as a manager, and he was a Maintenance worker at the Foothills Hospital.
Emery was predeceased by his son Alfred Vass June 8 1994, Father, Emery Vass Sr November 17 1996, Mother, Eva Vass October 15 2008, brother Ron Vass May 1 2017 and brother in law Jim Kummel February 3 2020.
Emery and Colleen were married for 46 years of endless happiness in all the adventure life gave them and the ones they made together.
In his life he was a son, brother, husband, Dad, Uncle, cousin, son in law, but most important a Papa and a good friend and brother to all who know him.
We all carry treasured moments spent with Emery.
