Store forced to close after MVA

A car that went out of control and hit a transformer kiosk forced the newly opened Superstore to close Thursday

A vehicle that went out of control in the parking lot of the recently opened Great Canadian Superstore  in Penticton ran into the main electrical feed for the building, forcing it to close shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Fire department personnel were on scene during the afternoon and cordoned off the damaged transformer kiosk, requesting the store to shut its doors.

It was not known how long the store would be shut down.
