New Democrats in Boundary-Similkameen selected school trustee Sam Hancheroff as their candidate for the May 14 election after nomination elections held in Oliver on April 6.
Before becoming a trustee, Hancheroff was a teacher in Okanagan Falls for 33 years. He has also served as an elected trustee for the Kaleden Irrigation District.
Hancheroff is a strong advocate for education, health and seniors’ care, agriculture and environmental awareness. He has a blended family of four children and five grandchildren.
