The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen has adopted its amended financial plan for 2022.
The financial plan was given first reading on Jan. 6 and the amended version received second reading on Feb. 17. The plan has also been presented to the various communities and electoral areas within the regional district.

Additional adjustments were made for the third reading, at the March 3 regional district board meeting. These adjustments were the result of fine-tuning of carry-forward totals and do not affect the tax increases, finance minister Jim Zaffino said in a report to the board.
The budget for this year is for $22,183,924. This is an increase of $1,714,958 or 8.38 per cent from the 2021 budget of $20,468,966.
The city of Penticton accounts for $2,307,112. Summerland’s share is $884,946. Princeton’s share of the budget is $108,279. Oliver has a share of $1,624,490 and Osoyoos has a share of $937,913. The amount for Keremeos is $554,465. All community amounts come to $6,417,204.
The Penticton Indian Band accounts for $105,145. The nine electoral areas account for $15,661,576 of the budget.
The budget information and financial plan accounted for 800 pages of the 1,575-page regional district agenda package.
