The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is asking the community for help in identifying any issues with its current building permit process.

An anonymous online survey seeking feedback on the matter was launched by the region on March 17 and will run until April 22.

The RDOS says building permit applications have increased “exponentially over the past few years.”

“Building permits can take between four to eight weeks to process,” said RDOS chair Mark Pendergraft. “The time variation is dependent on many factors, including the volume of applications, inspection requests, and staffing levels.”

Pendergraft added that the survey will help the region implement any necessary changes to how the process works.

Processing delays are among the issues the regional district hopes to address through community feedback.

Issues and concerns can be forwarded to the RDOS by completing the survey here.
