Voting information for Nov. 19 municipal elections

Re: Local Government Elections on November 19, 2011

Please be advised that members of First Nations and non-native residents of First Nations land are eligible to vote in Local Government Elections taking place on Saturday November 19, providing they meet the following criteria:

- is, or will be on November 15, 2008, age 18 years or older

- Canadian citizen

- resident of B.C. for at least six months immediately preceding voting day

- resident of or registered owner of real property in the regional district of Okanagan-Similkameen for at least 30 days immediately preceding voting day, and not otherwise disqualified by law from voting.

Advanced voting opportunities are scheduled for November 9, at all voting locations (see attached), and for Electoral Area “D” (Okanagan Falls/Kaleden/Apex) there is an additional advanced voting opportunity on November 12.

Resident electors will also be required to produce two pieces of identification (at least one with a signature). Picture identification is not necessary. The identification must prove both residency and identity.
