Meagre meeting of council

Blistering heat keeps everyone away from recent regular meeting of council

It was so hot, not even the press made it to the July 2 regular meeting of Keremeos council.

However, residents and media alike didn’t miss very much, as council once again faced very meagre agenda.

A letter from Keremeos Elks requesting a road closure on Veterans Avenue adjacent to Memorial Park for August 3 during Kars Under the “K”was granted by council.

Staff presented the updated parks bylaw and municipal ticketing information amendment bylaw to council, who passed first, second and third readings on both.

The Official Community Plan was also approved at third reading.
