LSIB election coming up

Lower SImilkameen Indian Band will choose a chief and councillor on November 4

Nominations have been filed for the upcoming Similkameen Indian Band election for chief and one councillor, which take place on Monday, November 4.

Keith Crow challenges incumbent Robert Edward for the position of chief, while a four way race is being run for the councillor position.

Lillian Allison, Frank Qualtier, Theresa Snow and Eliza Terbasket make up the candidate’s list for council member.

An advance poll will be held Saturday, November 2 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Regular voting day takes place Monday, November 4. Polls are open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Cawston Hall is the venue for both days’ polls.

Swearing in cermony takes place at the band office on Tuesday, November 5, at 9 a.m. in the band office.
