Keremeos village staff ratified a new collective agreement between CUPE Local 608 and the village on Monday, November 5.

Keremeos village staff ratified a new collective agreement between CUPE Local 608 and the village on Monday, November 5.

The two year agreement, from January 1, 2013 to December 31 2014 includes wage increases of 1.5 per cent and two per cent respectively per year, as well as changes in contract language that provides greater clarification and certainty for both the village and the union moving forward.

Bargaining and ratification by council was completed in one day, after being ratified by council at Monday night’s regular meeting in closed session.
