As the world mourns the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the mayor of Keremeos added the voice of the Village to those speaking of the longest-serving British monarch.
“On behalf of the Village of Keremeos council, I wish to extend our sincere condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and acknowledge her incredible dedication to a lifetime of service,” said Mayor Manfred Bauer.
Canadian flags in Keremeos will be flown at half-mast in her honour until sunset on the day of the memorial service for the Queen.”
Buckingham Palace announced the Queen died peacefully at Balmoral in Scotland on Thursday morning, Sept. 8. She was 96.
A date for her memorial service has not yet been announced.
