This year’s Relay for Life event takes place at the Penticton High School track on June 14, starting at 6 p.m.
Olalla resident Lisa Wadge is encouraging participation from Lower Similkameen residents in the relay,, which is a Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser.
“It’s really important to support your community in this fund raising effort,” said Wadge, who is a cancer survivor herself. Anyone interested in forming a team, or needing additional information is encouraged to call Lisa at 1-250-460-1895.
Participants register for $20 per person, while cancer survivors and care givers register free of charge. All survivors and caregivers receive a signature T-shirt, free meal as well as having the honour of leading all the participants in the first lap.
