Snowfall pushes back garbage collection a day in South Okanagan/Similkameen

The recent snow fall has pushed back garbage collection in the South Okanagan and Similkameen.

Garbage collection will happen Saturday opposed to the regular Friday for the Village of Keremeos, Electoral Area B (Cawston) and G (Olalla and Hedley).

The heavy snowfall overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning cancelled garbage pickup in Area D (Okanagan Falls), Area I (Kaleden), Penticton and Summerland on Wednesday.

Rural curbside collection of garbage and recycling will instead be pushed back one day for just this week: • Thursday January 24 Collection – Electoral Area ‘D’ (Okanagan Falls), ‘I’ (Kaleden) • Friday January 25 Collection – Electoral Area ‘E’ (Naramata), ‘F’ (West Bench and Red Wing) and Carmi • Saturday January 26 Collection – Village of Keremeos, Electoral Area ‘B’ (Cawston) and ‘G’ (Olalla and Hedley) Town of Oliver residents with Friday collection will have their collection on Saturday January 26th.
