On Saturday, June 21, 2014, over one hundred family members and friends of Canadians with cystic fibrosis (CF) will GearUp4CF and participate in a one, two, or nine day bike ride to raise funds in support of life-giving CF research. Twenty-two cyclists are already registered to ride for  nine days (1,200 km) from Vancouver to Banff, climbing nine mountain summits to a final altitude of 8,100 m.

On June 21st, the one hundred  – plus riders will leave Crescent Beach and arrive in Chilliwack in the early afternoon. On June 22, they will continue from Chilliwack to Manning Park, arriving late in the afternoon and staying at Manning Park Resort. June 23, day three, the riders will leave around 8 a.m. and continue on to Osoyoos. Keremeos residents can expect to see the entourage pass through the village sometime in mid to late afternoon.

This year’s nine-day ride has some very inspirational riders.

“It would be so amazing if we could get people from the community out cheering on the riders. It would really give them a boost as they continue their challenging ride to Banff,” said Sharon Bates, committee member for GearUp4CF.
