Trashed trash receptacles: Village of Keremeos garbage containers on Seventh Avenue have been victims of arson lately.

Between November 1 and 4 the village  reported six garbage container fires along Seventh Avenue.

Four of the container’s lids and liners were completely destroyed, the other two sets were damaged.

Cost to replace and or repair is $1,500

“We were very lucky, as one of the containers that only had minor damage was on the side of the Victory Hall,” said Keremeos Public Works Foreman Jordy Bosscha.

“If it had caught fire like the others, there may have been some serious damage to the hall.”
