Interior Health is confirming Village by the Station long-term care home in Penticton now has four total confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Prior to Monday’s update there were two cases at the long-term care home.
The second outbreak at the care home in recent weeks was declared Dec. 5 when one resident and one staff member both tested positive.
There was an earlier outbreak at the care home declared Nov. 15 after one staff member tested positive. The first outbreak was declared over by Interior Health Nov. 28.
In total Interior Health reported 250 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the total number of active cases in the region to 837, with 28 people in hospital and six in intensive care. No new deaths were declared.
Across the province, health officials announced 2,146 new cases and 49 deaths since Friday (Dec. 11).
