A heavy police presence has congregated downtown near the intersection of Eckhardt Avenue and Ellis Street, after an apparent collision between two vehicles.

Traffic is currently blocked in front of Penticton Secondary School.

Approximately four police cruisers, two fire trucks and an ambulance responded to the scene of a motor vehicle incident. A Western News reporter is also on scene.

The ambulance and one fire engine cleared from the scene shortly before 3 p.m.

A tow truck has also been spotted on the scene. As school is just getting out, school busses are being redirected to come down Ellis Street to get into the school’s bus bay.

Police declined to comment on the situation.

The Western News will update this story as more information becomes available.
