BCWF applauds historic vote on long-gun registry

The BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) commends Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government for scrapping the long-gun registry

The BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) commends Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government for scrapping the long-gun registry in passing of the third reading on Bill C-19 in mid February, an act to amend the Criminal Code and Firearms Act. This marks the end of the Long-Gun Registry Act.

“We are pleased that we can finally give this oppressive law a decent burial,” said Rod Wiebe, President, BCWF. “The Prime Minister has been consistent in his commitment to eliminate this costly, ill-fated and, frankly, useless legislation, and we are delighted that the government has kept its word.”
