Tips will go double the distance for one company’s employees last Friday.

Uride, the local ridesharing company, has designated Oct. 6 as Double-Up Day, where the company will match every tip given to drivers by riders, up to a maximum of $11.

A tribute to the hardworking drivers at the heart of providing smooth and safe trips, Double-Up Day is the latest initiative under Uride’s Good Deeds Program, just in time for Thanksgiving.

“Double-Up Day is all about amplifying gratitude,” said Cody Ruberto, founder and CEO of Uride. “Every journey with Uride is made special by our drivers, and this initiative celebrates their consistent dedication. By matching riders’ tips, we hope to convey our deep appreciation and invite everyone to join in expressing their thanks.”

Now operating in Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton, Uride was founded in 2017 with a focuse on smaller markets often overlooked by industry giants.

Uride’s mission is to end impaired driving and empower local communities through reliable and convenient transportation.
