For the third year, the Penticton Art Gallery has once again collaborated with Cannery Brewing to present the Square Mini Mural Fundraising Auction on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cannery’s Ale-Catraz.

The auction features 10- 4’ x 4’ paintings created by local talents Arianne Tubman, Brittany Bidlake, Endrené Shepherd, Lukas Lundberg, Naomi Qoyllur Díaz Robledo, Neil Erickson, Robyn Sylvester, Taylor Baptiste, Toni Albert and Zac Abney.

Tickets are priced at $35 and include a welcome beverage, appetizers, live music, and an opportunity to meet the artists. The auction event is part of Penticton Beer Week.

Each participating artist received a $500 honorarium and will also claim 50 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork. The remaining 50 per cent will be reinvested back into the program, ensuring ongoing support for emerging artists.

These visually stunning mini murals, have been on display throughout the summer months at Cannery Brewing in the Tap Room as well as The Backyard and are suitable for indoor or outdoor display.

“Chelsea and I had a wonderful time unveiling these paintings during Ignite the Arts Festival in March, and we are excited to see who gets to take them home,” said Rebecca Stocker, education coordinator at Penticton Art Gallery. “This event not only nurtures the careers of local artists but also fortifies community partnerships, such as the one with Cannery Brewing, and benefits the broader community.”

Bidding starts at $500 with online bids accepted at 32auctions.com/cannery2023. The online bidding will continue until midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 17, with the bids rolling over to the live auction itself held the next day.

For any information on the auction, contact the gallery at marketing@pentictonartgallery.com or by phone at 250-493-2928.
