It’s the last weekend of April and lots to do and see in Penticton.

Here’s what’s happening from April 26 to 28:

Penticton Vees look to clinch series (April 26)

After the Vernon Vipers staved off elimination with a 3-2 overtime win on Wednesday, the Penticton Vees have an opportunity to win the second-round series at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Friday night.

Puck drop for the series’ fifth game is at 7 p.m.

Kiwanis Music Festival for Dance (April 26 to 28)

The Penticton Kiwanis Music Festival returns this weekend to Cleland Theatre, as performers gear up for three days of choral, classical voice, musical theatre, speech arts, and dance.

Performances will be held all day at the theatre, from Friday to Sunday.

Quilt Show is back in town (April 26 to 27)

The Penticton Quilters’ Guild presents its Quilt Show on Friday and Saturday, at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

After a multi-year pandemic hiatus, the show returns to showcase more than 200 quilts.

Admission to the show is $10, with the event running from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

The Penticton Quilters’ Guild has 56 members and provides quilted items to many local organizations like the RCMP Victim Assistance, Salvation Army, Emergency Services, Babies First Program, Meals On Wheels, Long Term Care Homes, South Okanagan Women in Need Society, among others.

Rotary Club’s annual book sale (April 26 to 27)

The Penticton Sunrise Rotary Club’s book sale wraps up at the local curling club, located at 505 Vees Dr. on Friday and Saturday.

Books, puzzles, and games will be among the items on sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

‘Goodie Bag’ at Tempest Theatre (April 26 and 27)

A trio of original plays, followed by a round of improv, comes to Penticton’s Tempest Theatre on Friday and Saturday.

The weekend of performances, dubbed ‘Goodie Bag,’ will begin at 7:30 p.m. on both nights.

Tickets are $25.

Craft Culture Spring Market (April 27 and 28)

The Craft Culture Spring Market returns to the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Saturday and Sunday. More than 80 craft and artisan vendors will be in attendance.

Show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Doug Robb at Cannery Brewing (April 28)

Doug Robb, the former frontman of Canadian bandSins of Omission, comes to Cannery Brewing’s taproom on Sunday night.

The solo artist will perform both original songs and covers.

Show runs from 5 to 7 p.m.

There is no cover charge.
