Esther Cottrill and Jenna Sipponen are budding student actresses at SESS. They will be performing with the Cawston Players this weekend in 'A Christmas Chaos' at Cawston Hall.

Jenna Sipponen plays the stage manager in Cawston Players upcoming seasonal play titled “A Christmas Chaos.”

The play, which runs December 7.8 and 9 at Cawston Hall, will feature four Similkameen Elementary Secondary School students, including Jenna. The grade 11 student is a member of the school’s drama club and enjoys acting enough to be considering further studies after high school.

“It’s being up on stage,” she replied when asked about acting’s attraction. Jenna has acted in two other Cawston Players performances.

Grade eight student Esther Cottrill will be playing the role of “Tiny Tim #2”  as well as the role of a Christmas caroller in this weekend’s production. This will be Esther’s debut with the Cawston Players, but the SESS student has performed in school plays.

“It’s lots of fun,” she answered when asked what the attraction of acting was. Esther is not sure at this point whether she will pursue acting after high school.

Jasmine Vikner and Dominque Dupuis, both SESS students, also have parts in the play.

“A Christmas Chaos” will take place at Cawston Hall on Friday, December 7 through Sunday, December 9, with main performances starting at 7 p.m. with a matinee slated for Sundayat 2 p.m. Doors open a half hour before the performances begin.
