As B.C. returns to a new normal following the COVID-19 pandemic that forced the business to close and residents to stay home, the Penticton Western News would like to thank its readers for their continued support during this unprecedented time.
The Western was forced to shut its doors to the public in March to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and work to flatten the curve. Now the Western along with many other businesses in the Okanagan are preparing to reopen as we look toward phase three of B.C.’s restart plan.
During the pandemic our reporters, sales staff and couriers worked hard to bring you the trusted news you depend on. While our office may have been closed, we did ensure there were boots on the ground to cover the issues that remained important to the community as well as bring you timely updates on COVID-19.
While the impact of the pandemic has taken a significant toll on both residents and businesses, the Penticton Western News has worked hard to maintain a trusted product both in print and online.
Black Press Media began its transformation as a media company several years ago to span our coverage across not only our print product, but also online.
Our digital and print product has never been stronger, thanks to our faithful audience who continue to read our content. The pandemic helped accelerate our digital reach further than it has ever been.
Across the Okanagan, our audience has increased to 2.8 million monthly page views, with a social media audience of over 120,000 followers.
This includes a weekly distribution of over 111,000 copies delivered to door steps across the region on a weekly basis.
