The next 100 Men Who Care event will take place at a cidery in Summerland later this month.
The upcoming event will be held on Summerland Heritage Cider Company’s patio overlooking apple orchards and Okanagan Lake. It will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Participants will have the chance to taste local ciders, meet new and familiar faces, and donate to local charity, all within the span of an hour.

“We thought it’d be really great to celebrate being in the Okanagan at harvest time, and to take the event to Summerland,” said Aaron McRann, executive director of the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen, which organizes the quarterly socials.
As at all 100 Men events, three charities, vetted by the Foundation, will be introduced at the event and be invited to give speed pitches about their great work.
Each attendee donates $100, with the evening’s grand total split between the charities. The more men who show up to the cider barn, the more each of these worthy causes can take home. In fact, if all 100 men show up and contribute, then the charities wind up splitting more than $10,000 in prize money.
“Everyone goes away from this get-together happy,” says McRann. “On one side, the charities benefit from the donations and from having the chance to let the community know about their important work. On the flip side, the guys learn more about their community, and have a chance to make an impact themselves. And, the bonus is the opportunity to socialize with new friends.”
The event takes place at Summerland Heritage Cider Company from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with the cider barn doors opening for networking at 5 p.m. To learn more or sign up, visit www.cfso.net/100-men-who-care.
