Summer Reading Club wraps up at Keremeos library with prizes and awards

Summer Reading Club builds literacy by helping children gain confidence in reading skills

The Summer Reading Club, which keeps youngsters reading throughout the summer, wrapped up last Wednesday.

Enthusiastic young readers were recognized for completing their reading records with medals and certificates on Aug. 21 at the Keremeos library.

Library staff awarded prizes for all the contests, including the canvas artwork and colouring page designed by local artist Melissa Wiebe. Participation prizes were also given out.

Marlee Winser won the Name the Mascot contest.

The Keremeos library congratulated all the children who read over the summer and participated in the programs and contests.

The BC Summer Reading Club is designed to build literacy by helping children gain confidence in their reading skills while engaging with their public libraries.
