Rotary Club of Penticton donates $150K for new Skaha splash park

The splash pad is being replaced as part of Skaha Lake Park’s revitilization

The Penticton Rotary Club has donated $150,000 towards the new Skaha Park splash pad.

The club had donated to the construction of the original splash pad, which will be replaced as part of the planned revitalization of Skaha Lake Park.

Proceeds from the Rotary Club’s fundraisers over recent years such as their lobster dinners have gone towards the $150,000 donation for the splash pad.

The new design of the splash pad will incorporate Indigenous themes to recognize the significance of the parkland to the Penticton Indian Band as part of the approved plan.

“On behalf of council, thank you Rotary for your donation towards the new splash pad at Rotary Park,” said Mayor John Vassilaki. “You have truly demonstrated the power of volunteerism in our community. I know everyone is looking forward to the new splash pad which is in the planning process now and is slated to begin construction later this year.”
