In Summerland, a total of 22 cyclists, including two new riders, participated in the GoByBike BC Fall Encouragement Campaign in Summerland. The campaign was held Oct. 21 to Nov. 3.
They logged a total of 129 trips, with 1,043 kilometres. This burned 31,287 calories and saved 226 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions.
The trophy was made out of old bicycle parts and provided by Upcycle Bike Company.
Pilar rides her bike with her bicycle-pool buddy to the Summerland Research Station, across the railway trestle. She submitted a photo of herself riding across the trestle to win bragging rights for being Summerland’s first Road Warrior.
