Keremeos Substance Abuse Committee sends message to grads

The Village of Keremeos Education on Substance Abuse Committee sent a message to graduating students of SESS

The Village of Keremeos Education on Substance Abuse Committee sent a message to graduating students of Similkameen Elementary Secondary School recently in an attempt to influence good choices during grad celebrations this year.

The  message came in the form of  a letter sent to each graduating student.

Contained in the message are congratulations, noting the celebratory aspects of grad. It goes on to add:

“...Please also keep these things in mind: Let us highlight two words that we’ve already used. One is “Sober.” It’s a good word. It’s easy to “go with the flow” as we party and play, and forget the personal and social importance of making wise decisions for your own safety and well being.  Please stay sober as you play.

The other word is “together”. Have fun together. Watch out for each other. Keep each other safe. Be a real friend to your friend and classmates.”
