The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192 of Keremeos will be closed until further notice.

The decision was made by the branch following the new restrictions from the Ministry of Health that went into effect on Nov. 20.

“The branch will be closed until we get more information from the health authorities and our people from B.C.-Yukon Command,” said Branch 192’s secretary Mike Favel.

The Legion will still be accepting donations for their Christmas hampers in the mornings from Monday to Friday.

“I myself will be in the office in the mornings,” said Favel. “So if anybody would like to drop something off they could drop it off there.”

How the hampers will be delivered will depend on what the restrictions look like in December.

If the current restrictions are lifted after their current Dec. 7 deadline, then the Legion will likely resume operation as it has for the recent past, open on Fridays and Saturdays.

“We’ll have to play it by ear,” said Favel.
