The Penticton RCMP want the community’s help today to cram their kennels.

Members of the Penticton RCMP, as well as community volunteers and the Police Dog Service, are partnering together with the SCPA to fill their dog kennels with pet supplies.

From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. volunteers and RCMP officers will be at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre on Dec. 8 to accept donations and fill up their dog kennels with non-perishable dog and cat food and supplies.

“This will be our second year partnering with the SPCA. The Police Dog Service section will be showing off their new police dog,” said Const. James Grandy in a news release on the event.

“We encourage the public to come out and donate any non-perishable pet supplies and food for the SPCA.”

Last year, the SPCA also released a wishlist of additional items they hoped to see donated, including: recycling bags, large and extra-large garbage bags, computer paper, canned dog food, soft dog treats, dish soap, cleaning supplies, HE laundry soap, hand soap, office supplies (scotch tape, pens, etc.), ziplock bags (all sizes), Staples gift cards for office supplies, store gift cards, postage stamps, and Canadian Tire money.
