A boat was on fire in Skaha Lake this morning, leaving two people aboard with minor injuries.

The Penticton Fire Department received a call about the burning boat at around 10:40 a.m.

The 18-foot Bayliner was around a kilometre south of the Skaha Marina on the east side of the lake.

Two marine rescue vehicles on the water responded to the fire.

The fire was confined to the engine of the boat and extinguished before 11 a.m.

It was determined the boat required a tow, and at about 11:30 a.m., Penticton Fire Department left the scene.
