As COVID-19 restrictions ease during the summer months, art experiences are coming to a Keremeos park.

The Lower Similkameen Community Services Society presents four separate art programs to be held in Pine Park, including Painting in the Park, which takes place in three sessions from June 23-25, 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Directed by Similkameen Family Literacy with the help of volunteers, participants of all ages are welcome to take part for a $5 flat fee.

Volunteers can sign up by calling 250-499-2352 between 8 a.m. and noon, Monday to Friday.

“Some bursaries will be available to cover costs for those in need,” said Dave Cursons, coordinator for Similkameen Family Literacy.

Poets in the Park will meet July 7-9, Drawing in the Park takes place July 14-16 and Readers’ Theatre will happen July 21-23.

Participants under the age of seven must be accompanied by a caregiver at least 13 years old.

Those attending are asked to bring their own chair, and for painting and drawing it is suggested to bring art materials or buy the basics on-site for a nominal fee.

For questions or to register, call 250-499-2352.
