Apex Ski resort held the first freestyle event of the season on the weekend of Jan. 13-15, one of two qualifying events for the Canadian Junior Nationals. Over 140 competitors participated from age eight and up. `
Competitors came from Apex Freestyle Club, Whistler/Blackcomb Freestyle Club, Silver Star Freestyle Club, Big White Freestyle Club, Revelstoke Freestyle Club, Vancouver Freestyle Club, Mount Washington Freestyle Club, Kimberly Freestyle Club and the BC Provincial Freestyle Team.
Two Keremeos skiers placed in the medals during the event. In addition, Keremeos resident Kassidy Todd won a place in the BC Winter Games. She was one of only three selected during the event.
