Excitement is growing for the BC Summer Games and District Playdowns.

The reality of the BC Summer Games are becoming true for three local softball players.

Sydney Crow, Alana Leask and Bailey Vesper, all have been named on the Zone 2 U14 girls softball team.

Five local grade 7 girls tried out against 60 grade 7 and 8 girls from Kamloops down to Cawston.  All five girls, including Kisa Minshull and Taylor Thompson made the cuts to the top 20 girls.  These girls all worked very hard on their skills all winter and their coaches and families are very proud of each girl.

The Summer Games will be this July in Surrey.

All these girls play on the local Kobau Koyotes U14 softball team and are excited to be hosting the U14 District playdowns on June 16 and 17 at Kobau Park.  These playdowns decide which two teams will attend the provincial playdowns in July.  Last year the team finished 4th / 16 teams in the U12 division.

Many volunteers will be needed in the community to help out with the district playdowns.  So, if you love ball and want to help out in any way, ( raking, selling tickets, consession, etc ) please call Vespers at 499-5709.
