The Keremeos Library hosted a 75th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, March 19.  All the  29 libraries in the Okanagan regional system celebrated by hosting special events on the same day.  The Keremeos Library featured two local author readings by Sheryl Hare and Della Barrett. A colouring contest for the children was ongoing throughout the day.  Local artist, Hedy Munawych portrayed all the provinces of Canada through her colourful artwork hung in the library.  Congratulatory speeches were given by Mayor Walter Despot and Councillor and library board representative Gary Theilmann, and Community Librarian Debra Holley.   The Friends of the Library were acknowledged for their volunteer work with the local branch.  Cake and punch was served to a large crowd, followed by book prize draws.  To conclude the celebration,  The Cawston Players entertained both adults and children with a series of comical skits highlighting the span of years of the library. A great time was had by all!
