It’s going to be an amazing night of local music.

The Wild Organic Humans and friends, some who haven’t been seen in quite awhile, will hit the stage at the Cawston Hall Saturday night in a Mama’s Day Dance Musical Extravaganza.

“This really is going to be a music extravaganza and a collaboration of some great artists. This is not a show you want to miss,” Elam Wills, lead guitar of the Wild Organic Humans said.

The night is going to include a variety of cover songs and originals.

“We’ve been practicing all winter for this show and we’re really excited to showcase how far we’ve come,” Maggie MacDonald, lead vocalist said.

After the long winter the crowd at the hall is sure to be glad to see the rest of the Wild Organic Humans including Doug Vincent on drums, Brad Virtue, bass/vocals and Johnny Butcher on trumpet.

Skye Ericksen is poised to return to the band adding her soothing saxophone sound. Eriksen has been away studying her third year of music at the University of Victoria. Singing support vocals will be Cheryl Tarvis.

The band is excited to debut a new original song called ‘We are Each Other’s Guru’s’ at the dance.

Throughout the night musical guests will take the stage including James Duperon a local organic farmer who’s well-know throughout the area as a singer songwriter.

He’ll be playing lead guitar with the band for several songs.

“He brings a variety of original songs. They’re really danceable songs,” MacDonald said. “People are not going to be able to stay in their seats.”

Also two other well-known musicians Cal Gracie and Jeff Lakey will reunite on the stage to play a variety of covers and originals. The duo played together in the band Black Birds close to a decade ago and Cal went on to front the Cal Gracie band where he played with Wills.

“It’s going to be a great night really bringing together people who haven’t played together for awhile,” MacDonald said.

“It’s really going to be a reunification of Cal Gracie and Jeff Lakey. People aren’t going to want to miss this,” Wills said.

The night will end off with DJ JD playing some songs to keep people dancing.

Libations will include wines from Forbidden Fruit Winery and the new Dead End Sinner Cider. Beer will also be sold.

The night will include door prizes from Little Bush’s and Okanagan Similkameen Community Acupuncture. There will also be a 50/50.

Money raised will go towards paying all the musicians.

“We want to to thank everyone for all the support and just want to invite everyone to come on down and enjoy the music and really kick the season of right,” MacDonald said.

Tickets are $12 and can be bought at Emmy’s Bake Shop in Keremeos or the Cawston Market Place.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. music starts at 8 p.m.
