Kelowna’s British pub Welton Arms permanently closes

One of Kelowna’s North End pubs is no longer pouring pints.

The Welton Arms, located at 890 Clement, announced it would be closing its doors as well as its brewery location as of March 11.

“This wasn’t an easy decision at all, but due to the current economic situation, we were just not able to sustain them. Thank you to our loyal customers and friends we made along the way. It’s been a pleasure serving you,” read a statement from Welton Arms on Facebook.

The British pub known for serving English beers alongside fish and chips, opened in 2021.

Within hours of Welton Arms posting its closing notice to Facebook, more than 60 people had commented on the post relaying their disappointment in the business being shuttered.
