Similkameen Elementary Secondary School sent three  runners to the Cross Country Provincials in Prince George on the weekend.

The three students performed well, in spite of a soggy, snowy, slushy and muddy route. Kassidy Todd placed 46 out of 251 and was the third Okanagan girl.

Cael Warner placed 50 out of 249 and was the third Okanagan male to complete the run.

Noah Beglaw placed 125 - a great showing for a 14 year old.

All three felt it was a great experience overall.

The SESS boys soccer team  won their first game against St. Johns Brebeuf 2-0, lost to runners up St. Andrews 4-0, lost to Queen Charlotte 3-2.

They finished 12th in the Provincials after a penalty defeat to Meadowridge.

Colton Wabenegger made the tournament top 11 player list.

Jesse Vissia and Skye Terbasket had outstanding tournaments.

Four starting players were affected by a stomach virus hampering our efforts.

SESS teacher Nikki Johnson is in the process of starting a school/community garden on a plot of land outside of the  school doors. A public forum is taking  place on Wednesday, November 14 at 6 p.m. at the school.

The grads had a very successful bottle drive.  They were out in the community on Saturday morning.  Thanks to all the community members for their donations of bags of cans and bottles, and thanks to all the parents and friends who volunteered to help out.
