On Monday evening, the Summerland Steam concluded their first round of the playoffs after they defeated the Princeton Posse in five games.
The Steam won Game 5 on Monday at the Summerland Arena 4-2 over the Posse, ending the best of seven series.
Summerland began the division semi-finals last week with a 7-6 overtime loss to the Posse on home ice.
The Steam hosted the Posse the following evening, winning 6-2.
On Friday and Saturday, games were played in Princeton. The Steam won both games, finishing with a score of 4-2 on Friday and 5-1 on Saturday.

The Steam are moving on to the division finals and will face the first place Kelowna Chiefs starting on Friday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in Kelowna at the Rutland Arena.
This past season, the Steam played the Chiefs a total of six games. The Steam’s record against Kelowna this year was two wins and four losses. The Steam scored a total of 17 goals, but gave up 30 of their own.
The Steam will play their first home game of series starting on Monday March 11 at the Summerland Arena. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.

Game 2: Saturday, March 9, 7 p.m. at the Rutland Arena in Kelowna
Game 3: Monday, March 11, 7:30 p.m. at the Summerland Arena
Game 4: Tuesday, March 12, 7:30 p.m. at the Summerland Arena
Game 5 (if necessary): Thursday, March 14, 7 p.m. at the Rutland Arena in Kelowna
Game 6 (if necessary): Friday, March 15 at the Summerland Arena
Game 7 (if necessary): Sunday, March 17, 7 p.m. at the Rutland Arena in Kelowna
The winner of this series will go on to the conference finals later in March.
