During the 2021-2022 season, Weill led the Steam with 53 points in 42 games in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. This also placed him fourth overall in the league.

In 11 Teck Cup playoff games, he added 14 points.

“Tristan was a dynamic player for us last year that was a threat to score every time he stepped on the ice,” said Mark MacMillan, head coach and general manager of the Steam. “He grew as a person and player over the course of the year, and stepped up his game in the playoffs, as many great players do. We are very excited for Weill to move on to the next level and continue his hockey career in Winkler.”
