The Penticton Vees have opened up their second playoff series with a 2-1 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings on April 14.

After the Spruce Kings opened up the scoring in the first period, the Vees kept the pressure on to avoid a repeat of their first game series loss to the Trail Smoke Eaters.

The Vees certainly played to the crowd with the tying goal coming with 22 seconds left in the second period, leaving the game tied to start the third.

Despite the Vees outshooting the Spruce Kings 34 to 25 for the game, it would take the Vees almost the entire game to take the lead.

In the dying seconds of regulation time, Josh Nadeau found a way past the Spruce King goal to take the lead with 4.9 seconds left on the clock.

The Vees notched their first win in the series and return for game two at the South Okanagan Events Centre tonight, April 16. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
