The Kobau Koyotes were flying high after beating Penticton at the Kobau - hosted playdowns tournament held in Cawston on the weekend

Kisa Minshull went 2-3, helping the Kobau Koyotes to a 4-0 victory over Penticton Power on Sunday on the Kobau one diamond.

She singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Penticton Power couldn’t get anything going as long as Bailey Vesper was pitching. Penticton Power managed just one hit off Vesper, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during her first three innings of work.

The lead stayed with the Koyotes after the first, when the team scored two runs on two singles.

The Koyotes pushed across one run in both the second and sixth innings, scoring on an RBI (run batted in) single by Cedar Carter, who scored Chelsea Matzick.

Players caught fly balls and made some long, accurate throws to win the game.

The Koyotes will now move on to the provincial playdowns in Newton on July 5, 6 and 7.

The team and parents would like to thank the community for all their volunteer hours at Kobau Park. The district playdowns were a great success.
