Keremeos and Area Ambassadors recruiting for new candidates

It's that time of year again when the Keremeos ambassadors are looking for new candidates.

The Keremeos & Area Ambassador Committee is recruiting new candidates for their 2017-18 program.

Training will begin on February 7th, 2017.

The potential candidates will meet once a week (Tuesdays) in the SESS Library. The February 7th, 6-7:30 p.m. meeting will require a parent to be present, as there are contracts to sign.

This will give parents a better idea of what their son or daughter will be involved in, as well as their commitment as a parent.

Weekly meetings will include such skills as public speaking, speech writing, impromptu question practice, etiquette, grooming for the guys, makeup for the girls, proper dress for the occasion, how to sit and walk, and practical skills such as: changing a tire, making/decorating cupcakes for the Sponsorship Tea and keeping organized.

This is a wonderful opportunity for young men and women in grades 9-11. They will learn many new skills, meet new people, volunteer in their community and travel all over BC. The Proclamation of the new Ambassadors will be at a ceremony on Saturday, May 20th/17, during the Elks Rodeo Weekend.

The summer will be filled with travel to different community events all over the province. Contact Doddi Terbasket, if you want more information about the program 250-499-4061.
