What is the economic impact of “Kars?”

How much money does Keremeos car show generate for the village?

To the Editor:

I read recently a story in the Penticton Herald about the humongous boost the three day Peach City Beach Cruise did for the economy of Penticton.

“One million dollars,” as quoted by Mayor Dan Ashton.

This got me wondering and thinking - miracle of miracles - what, if any, has our own Kars Under the “K” done for the benefit of Keremeos over the past 10 years.

I think there has been a financial benefit to Keremeos and area, but no one knows for sure. The Village of Keremeos and for that matter the Chamber of Commerce have never publicly come forward and made any comments.

It’s as if the Kars Under the “K” did not exist in their minds.

So I guess it is what it is -  just a car show for the metal and paint enthisiasts to enjoy.

At this time I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all the hard working, dedicated volunteers for keeping this show going over the years for all to enjoy. To me, you are the “cat’s pajamas.”

Let’s hope volunteers come forward in the future to keep this great show going for many more years to come, for all to enjoy.
