To the Editor:
I extend congratulations to the “Taste of our Valley” committee and volunteers who made this event on October 20 so successful. Once again we see volunteers helping with events that the entire South Similkameen can enjoy. I was pleased to see all of the Similkameen Winery Association members present. The good variety of food vendors was enjoyed by all.
The event was well attended and the silent auction is always an interesting segment. I noted all the items were donated and supplied by local businesses and small family enterprises. I did not see, or expect to see; any large box stores supply a single item for the auction. Please try to support your local businesses when possible.
The other glaring absence, at least to me, was that only two local politicians out of seven were in attendance!
