Director announces his retirement from Area “D”

From the director:

Nine years ago I was honoured to be elected Regional Director for Electoral Area “D”.  After three terms of office I hereby announce I will not be seeking re-election at the end of this term.

Although there still are many exciting challenges ahead for the area and regional district, now is the time to truly retire and spend time with my wife and family, something I started some thirteen years ago.

As most who seek public office, there were a number of projects I felt would enhance the area.  With the assistance of a great cadre of volunteers, we were able to realize most of those issues and can see the remainder well on the way to completion.

I will forever hold dear the memories of these past years and am forever indebted to so many people who helped me over my term;

– Most importantly, my wife Marlene, who unselfishly gave up so much to permit me the time to serve;

– Members of the legislature, the federal government and their staff who listened and worked with us over the years;

– The many committee members who have freely given of their time to make Area “D” a better place;

– To the constituents of Area “D” for their support over the years as we moved forward with the much needed changes.

I thank you for your support and pledge to work with the communities to continue our journey for the remainder of the year and where ever I am asked to assist..

Bill Schwarz, Area “D” director
