Cat program will continue

More volunteers needed for cat spay program in the Similkameen

To the Editor:

The Similkameen Cat Spay and Neuter Program, which has been operating since September, 2007 will be changing due to the fact that the person who was driving the cats to the veterinary will be leaving soon.

I will continue to help cats on a limited basis but maybe not until spring due to finances and having an unreliable van. Maybe in the spring I will help to take cats to Penticton for spay and neuter and return them.

I would like to personally thank everyone who has helped with refundable cans and bottles and I ask for your continued support. It is my only means from which to pay for vet costs and it is never enough. A program like this needs more than one person and a lot of support form the community to continue, but now I need a break to catch up on finances. If I can help with questions and information about cats, please call me, Betty Hansen, at 250-499-5602. Please be patient, as I have a full time job.

Once again I thank everyone for their support from the bottom of my heart.

Betty Hansen, Keremeos
