In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we say sayonara to our husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Bill was born in St. Boniface, MB, the eldest of 6 children born to Mary Anne and William Mitravitz Sr. He grew up and attended school in Winnipeg after the family moved there to be closer to William Sr.'s place of employment at CN Railways.
In his late teens, Bill traveled to BC to work in the coastal logging camps, returning each fall to school in Winnipeg. In the late 1940's the family relocated to Burnaby, BC where he and his father worked in the lumber industry.
Bill loved to travel and on one of his trips to eastern Canada he met Eva Robertson. They married two years later and made their home in the Vancouver area. In 1972 they moved to the Similkameen Valley where they were employed in the Hospitality Industry until their retirement in 2004 to their Cawston, BC property.
Bill was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Linda (Richard) Anderson and June (Eugene) Dennis; brother, Alfred Mitravitz; brother-in-law, Orville Mowers.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eva; son, Glenn (Gayl); grandsons, Shane and Brandon; brother, Ted (Norma); sister, Louise; many nieces and nephews.
Bill was active in the Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department, Boy Scouts, Air Cadets and school sports. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Penticton Regional Hospital and at Moog and Friends Hospice House for their compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred in the Cawston Cemetery family plot at a date to be announced.
EVER WITH US IN LOVE AND IN MEMORY.
